The Revisor
Misunderstandings and laughter in Russia!

This adaptation of Gogol’s most humorous and poignant Petersburg Tales has already enjoyed over 100 performances.
Brought to life by three actors with live piano pieces by Prokofiev, the play follows Aksenty Ivanovitch Poprichtchine, a modest bureaucrat in Saint Petersburg struggling to find his place in the world.
Living alone with his maid Mavra, his dreams and ambitions are thwarted by his clumsiness and distraction. He begins to fabricate a more desirable life for himself, eventually losing all touch with reality.

LE FIGARO “Ronan Rivière is impressive in the role of this schizophrenic who has mentally built a castle in Spain and, worse, truly believes he lives there.”
FRANCE INTER “It feels as though the text was written yesterday. Olivier Mazal’s piano performances of Prokofiev pieces perfectly complement Gogol’s work.”
OUEST FRANCE “The adaptation is beautifully done. It’s a joyous experience while keeping us on the edge of madness.”
HUMANITE “This 1834 tale breathes a captivating madness that’s ready to be shared.”
