About
Marius helps his gruff, good-natured father César run his bar right next to little Fanny's shellfish stall. But he is obsessed with the idea of going to sea. Marius and Fanny have been partners since childhood... until the day when the big three-masted Malaysia makes a short stopover in Marseille. The call of the sea, of the heart, of the family, all sirens with dissonant songs...
Jean-Philippe Daguerre (winner of 5 Molières 2025 for Coal in the veins) and seven actors from the southern branch of her company, le Grenier de Babouchka, have chosen to make the wonderful language of the great Marcel Pagnol in Marseille's old port in 1960.
« - César : to make a good Madarin-Lemon-Curaçao, you first add a third of curaçao. Be careful: just a tiny third. Right, then. Now a third of lemon, a little bigger. That's it. Next, a good third of Picon. Look at the colour. Look how pretty it is. And at the end, a large third of water. And that's it.
- Marius That's four thirds.
- César : Exactly, I hope you understand this time.
- Marius In a glass, there are only three thirds.
- César But you idiot, it depends on the size of the third party! «

Quel bonheur de redécouvrir Pagnol, si rarement joué dans les théâtres ! Une fois de plus le Théâtre du Ranelagh nous régale d’une pièce de grande qualité.
A la fois drôle, voire truculente, et tendre.
Une mise en scène parfaite : on reconnaît la patte de Jean-Philippe Daguerre primé à plusieurs reprises aux Molières ces dernières années.
Des comédiens justes et convaincants, avec une mention spéciale pour César, exceptionnel.
Quant au décor, on se croirait du Bar de la Marine.
A voir absolument ; l’assurance de passer une délicieuse soirée!

Une très belle pièce avec des artistes convaincants. On rit et on est ému. Ils nous emmènent avec eux et leur accent du sud du côté de Marseille. Très bonne mise en scène. Allez-y !
