A Charming Crossing with Exploratory Stops of the Kyrielle of Moods of a Work in Progress

About

And that's just as well, because it's his work and himself that this show brings into conversation!

A musician and three actresses take it in turns to portray Chekhov's father, brothers, sister, editor, lover and wife. Using the words Chekhov chose for the characters in his plays, they tell the story of this young man, the student, the author, the doctor, the adventurer, the humanist, the theatre-goer, the sick man... Three voices telling the story of a man who worked so hard to tell them.

A declaration of love to Chekov. Who is so close to us, so alive. We are in the Russian soul. A magnificent show!

Fabulous actors, a quirky, funny and moving production to tell the story of Chekhov's life. There's never a dull moment.

Press coverage

TÉLÉRAMA TT «The actresses take on every role with panache (...) At the piano, Joseph Robinne sets the emotional tempo with his varied improvisations, which are always successful.»

LA CROIX «A delightful kaleidoscope that is also a wonderful declaration of love for the theatre.»

THE TERRACE «A luminous show that depicts a simple, lively Chekhov».»

THE GOOD PARISIAN PLAN «The Ranelagh, with its wood-panelled décor and warm atmosphere, seems to be just the place for this type of proposition: demanding but accessible, classic but lively.»

SPECTATIVE «A show that manages the feat of being demanding without taking itself too seriously, warm without being ostensibly comfortable. A moment where wit and emotion intertwine naturally.»

THE OLIVE EYE «This Chekhovian whirlwind will blow you away!»

PARIS OUTINGS «A lovely, original creation that makes you laugh and makes you think...».»
