Arsène Lupin
He’s the biggest thief of them all!

Two neighbouring aristocrats are grieving the loss of their loved ones and seem inconsolable. Their despair brings them closer together, but their pride prevents them from confessing their love to one another. The clumsy meddling of rivals and servants plunges them into an inextricable mess.
Here, Marivaux illustrates the explosive coexistence of touchiness and love. The pretty words, elegant barbs and convoluted phrases ultimately serve only to highlight a crude yet touching humanity, under the mocking gaze of the servants.
After Faust, The Double, The Novel of Monsieur Molière, The Revizor and The Diary of a Madman, the Ranelagh is hosting this new production by the Collectif Voix des Plumes: a comedy by Marivaux about the difficulty of coming clean and committing to a second love.
