Our CSR commitments
The Ranelagh is eco-responsible through a series of concrete actions:
- recycling: selective sorting: 3 bins (green-yellow-black) for glass and cardboard/plastic. In addition, with the solution offered by Conibi, we recycle the ink and toner cartridges in our printers.
- electricity: a controlled resource, with the switch to LEDs for all the stage lighting by the end of 2024 and the use of rechargeable batteries since 2018. We also recycle our bulbs and batteries in special bins.
Heating: we use steam heating throughout the building, thanks to district heating. - the foyer bar: we sell French products (wines from Bordeaux, the Loire or Chateauneuf du Pape) and even Parisian products, which have not travelled around the world 3 times to get to Ranelagh, with even returnable glass bottles from ‘La Brasserie Parisienne’, based in Pantin, for our beers and lemonades.
- soft mobility: the 14 members of our permanent team use bicycles and public transport.
- plastics: plastic water bottles are a thing of the past, replaced by water bottles in the dressing rooms and on trays for the teams.
- paper: since September 2021, no programme has been distributed to the public at the time of seating by the hostesses. Only the season programme, the posters and the flyers for each show are printed on 70% PEFC-certified recycled paper in a controlled run, so there is no waste.
We are part of the working group that created and implemented the ecological charter for French theatres via the Association pour le Soutien du Théâtre Privé (ASTP), making us part of an even wider CSR commitment.
