Cyrano de Bergerac

The masterpiece, a 2-hour performance by Stéphane Dauch, our Cyrano.

About

Cyrano is a fearless musketeer in the company of the Cadets of Gascony. He is in love with his cousin Roxane but doesn't dare declare himself to her... so beautiful... and he so ugly with his enormous nose. Out of love and desperation, he agrees to protect Christian, his rival, and even helps him to seduce Roxane.

Singing, music, combat, ten actors and a virtuoso violinist in this eminently sonorous, rhythmic and faithful version of Rostand's masterpiece!

We took our son to see Jean-Paul Belmondo as Cyrano over 30 years ago. We accompanied him and our grandson, who is the same age (9), to the Ranelagh theatre on Saturday afternoon, and we were all delighted by the wonderful performance of the actors. The staging was different but just as seductive.

I've just been to a performance in Castres with my CM2 pupils... a pure delight! Even though it was hard to get into with this audience, they all loved it. And so did I!
