The Miser

About

This is Molière's art of « having fun with human folly »which is expressed through this classic masterpiece so modern.

In addition to the jubilant psychiatric analysis of avarice through the character of Harpagon and the formidable exposition of the generational conflict, the play is distinguished by a theatrical profusion that blends love and family intrigues in a style in which Molière revels in bringing together the natural language of Harpagon and the more sophisticated language of the other characters.

But Molière's great genius was, above all, to succeed in making the audience laugh with a main character who is obnoxious, tyrannical, egotistical and sickly... stingy.
