About
First performed in Paris at the Palais Royal on 6 August 1666 by the Troupe du Roi, this is Molière's most famous farce!
Sganarelle is a drunken, facetious woodcutter whose wife Martine passes him off as a mad doctor who only recognises himself as a doctor after being beaten. The result is a frenetic series of misunderstandings and irresistible situational comedies.
