Inspired by The Merchant of Venice, Othello and Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare, Moors in Venice is in the classic tradition of Commedia dell'arte: farce, magic interventions, duels, absurd adventures, songs, music and theatrical coups... All written and directed by Carlo Boso, the famous Italian maestro!
Antonio, a fisherman in search of his fortune, decides to borrow three thousand ducats from the usurer Shylock in order to seduce Benilde, a Venetian noblewoman. At the same time, Shylock's daughter Jessica falls in love with a notorious Moorish pirate, angering her father. The intrigue and misunderstandings have only just begun...
